About Me

Hey!

Welcome to the blog! Thank you for checking it out!

Why am I here?

I would like to take a moment and explain why I started blogging.

I have been involved in politics since I was in 4th grade, when I “volunteered” for the Barack Obama campaign. I must admit, I didn’t know much about politics then, but over the years I believe I have gained lots of experience from being involved.

I also helped with the revival of the Marion County (Alabama) Democrats. Since early 2017, we have grown stronger and stronger. With our help, Marion County has seen an increase in Democratic voters. In 2016, only 11% of the county vote went towards the Democrats. In the 2017 special election, 19.7% (1,311) of the vote went towards Doug Jones, the Democrat. Finally, in the 2018 midterm elections, 19% of the vote went towards the Democratic candidate for governor (1,877). All of these numbers can be found on official election results for Alabama.

In September of 2017, I was put before the State Democratic Executive Committee, and appointed to the position of House District 17 male representative. I was approved unanimously, and did not face opposition in 2018. Therefore, I am still holding the position. The State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) is the “governing body” behind the Alabama Democratic Party.

I currently attend Northwest Shoals Community College. I am on track to get my Associates of Arts degree in May of 2019. I will transfer to a four year university to continue my studies. I am a Political Science Major.

Again, thank you for checking out my blog!
